Message #80608
Andre, The specs we have are preliminary, but here is what we plan to make available (Q394 – the 060 is officially available): Multiple processor support – up to four MC68060 processors working in parallel. No application changes are required. A new setpatch and accompanying utilities will be provided. Memory…
PGP program
Message #37332
A couple of days ago I uploaded a file called PGP21A.LHA. This is the source & Amiga binary for a program called Pretty Good Privacy. This is a public key encryption program that is freeware. The only problem with it is that the whole concept of a public key encryption…

VistaLite Beta
Message #36502
Attention VRLI beta testers!!! In Lib 17 (as soon as it has been processed) is VistaLite 3.00a beta, the new "Lite" version of VistaPro for the small computer user. This is the .881 version and contains 32 bit (with 24 bits used) internal RGB buffers. The next version will try…
John: Chaos, naturally! Renews itself daily. Clint
My new address is: Syndesis Corporation P.O. Box 65 235 South Main Street Jefferson, WI 53549 (414) 674-5200 (414) 674-6363 FAX What's new at Chow-city? 🙂
I don't really know yet. I don't have any comm stuff hooked up to my PC so I can't really play with it. I've been told it's a FAX management program to help format faxes, but that's all they've told me. I need a daytime phone number and USnail address…
I'd volunteer my Gateway with Telepath fax modem, but I hesitate to part with any of my spare time… 🙂 If you need to check the Telepath, I'm here. What does the program really do?
A1000s Wanted!
Message #103417
Hi. I am in need of several A1000s for a hardware project. Machines need to be working, but don't need any particular enhancements. I am on a tight budget, but could pay $25-50 for shipping/handling/etc. per machine. Anyone who has an old 1000 in their closet they aren't using, please…
Bob: Great! I had an address and phone on you at one time, but it's probably on tape now, and VRLI has the DAT drive, so if you could email me a USnail location and daytime phone number, it would be muchly appreciated! I will pass this info along to…
Vic: Great! I'll pass his name on to Doug at VRLI. Does he have a usual 'daytime' phone number he can be reached at after school? (He must be almost out now anyway!) Clint (I think I'm developing a split personality with this VRLI/Chaocity stuff!) (No we're not, and shut…
Clint, White Wolf Productions would be willing to be a Beta site. We've a number of Klones, and both Class 1 and Class 2 fax modems. – BobR (Motorola Inside!)
Clint, As you would probably guess, Scott would be happy to 'test'. He's running a BOCA internal FAXmodem
VRLI Beta Test
Message #35207
VRLI is searching for beta testers for a new PC product, which may get ported to the Amiga if there is sufficient interest. Right now they need beta testers who have access to a PC with a FAX/Modem card. The product is called "Form Buster" and is (from what I…
MetaScope
Message #34170
MetaScope 1.254 (04/12/93) is now in LIB17, it should merge by around 2400 tonight. Fixes a couple odd things having to do with displaying source
MetaScope 1.235
Message #33817
newer of the new MetaScope (I think this will fix the 4000 cache 'problem'
test a game
Message #33774
There is (or will be at 2300 PST) a beta (maybe gamma) of a shareware game being developed by one of our MetaScope testers. Please try it out if you're so inclined. It's a 'falling block' type of game vaguely similar to Tetris. The music is LOUD (and kinda catchy)
Well… you asked. Clint
Yoikes!?!?!?, I guess that's possible "All things are possible through software" Dick Weinberger
Vic: As an alternative, how about a user definable 'info' file which contains 'C' structures, and then allow the user to define a window as pointing to one of those structures, and map the data accordingly? Clint
MetaScope 1.231
Message #33665
MetaScope 1.231 (03/27/93) is now in LIB17. We're looking for ideas on enhancements too. I know, I know, show local variables and structures. Believe me, I would, if I could just find out what the format of the debugf info is in the file . All other requests welcome .
Thanks, Jim. Sue —Betty
I can call you Betty, and Betty when you call me, you can call me Al. Love, Paul
Do we have any Al's that have access to 17? Clint
I have a friend with a MicroTek scanner. It's a SCSI device. Ever heard of it? Steve
MetaScan
Message #33240
If you have a SCSI Epson scanner, there is a beta version of our sw in LIB17. EMail me for the password, and you can be added to our beta testers. Thanx
Denny Ok, I'll relay that information. When we wrote the code we didn't expect saying NTSC was going to prevent going to dblNTSC (and it shouldn't).
Vic, Perhaps you could open in Multiscan (640×480) mode if running on AGA? I think running on VGA-level monitors is more important than round circles… (Not criticising, just offering MHO. 🙂
MetaScope 1.193
Message #32704
Everyone, New MetaScope uploaded. Mostly cosmetic fixes for pen arrays and the 3.0 scalable checkmark and Amiga glyphs.
Denny, Not only is that not so simple, we're NOT going to scale all the output so that circles look like circles. C= MUST wake up here and give us a way to open screens with specific pixel aspect ratios.
Ah Mark! You know not what you do! Clint
#My Game…
Message #32606
Greetings all, I have uploaded to Library 17 the first (raggity tho it is) of a CLI based game that I have written. It was originally designed to run as a door on an IBM Bulletin Board System. I have re-worked it, and made the changes necessary so that it…
I guess the (not simple) solution is to support the ScreenModes requester, then.
Terraform and PAL
Message #32572
We have a bug report that the latest Terraform (ver 2.1) won't open screens on a PAL machine. We don't have a PAL machine, and we are guessing that possibly all that's wrong is that the NTSC monitor isn't in the active monitor drawer. Would any of you out there…
Denny, The 'problem' with the previous scheme was that on a PAL machine, the aspect ratio went all funny. We believe there is a significant design oversight in the current C= handling of monitors. We're trying to find out how to reliably open screens in a specific PIXEL aspect ratio…
MetaScope & enforcer
Message #32548
Ok, folks, this is REALLY HOT. Metascope with source _and_ Enforcer support. That's right, if you're program gets an Enforcer 'hit', we automagically set the 'single-step' internally, and we get control within an instruction or so. This should be 'public' by around 2300 tonight enjoy
Vic, But the previous beta worked fine with mode promotion! What was wrong with that scheme? There are a number of pro users who have monitors that won't scan down to 15 kHz, and absolutely MUST have promotable software…
#Terraform 2.1
Message #32459
Denny, Until Commodore figures out how to ask for a screen with a specific aspect ratio, we're gonna be _stuck_ with the no mode promotion. We don't actually care whether the screen is scan doubled, but for some reason the monitors do. C= understands our dilemma, and we're working on…

VistaPro 2.99Q
Message #31129
VistaPro 2.99Q should be public around 2300 PST on 1992 Dec 30
Vic: OK, will do. See email about minor spelling bug in T4M 2. Clint
MetaScope 1.92
Message #31088
This latest release should make it harder to accidently get enforcer hits by trying to display 'illegal' memory. You CAN do it, but this should drop the accidental ones. As a result, SOMETIMES a memory window (which 'appears' to be displaying memory (with illegal addresses) will show garbage. No password,…
Terraform 2.0
Message #31087
Terraform 2.0a (fixes a small bug when loading some 'illegal' files) is now in LIB17 (should merge as of around 2300 PST). Please test, normal password.

VistaPro 2.99p
Message #30992
Attention VistaPro beta testers!!! VistaPro 2.99p is now in Lib 17. The annoying File Requester bug is now fixed. (Although the annoying file requester is still defaulted) Let me know if you run into any problems. Clint
…and if you actually want to use the file requester, put the name of the file in the Pattern string. 2.99p will be uploaded in the morning. Clint
