The latest version of the whole DICE package is still DICE 3.0, which is the number of the first commercial release. andy
Latest version?

What's the latest version of DICE?
CD32 Commercial App.
Message #85228
I was just watching a local news broadcast (on BCTV, Vancouver, BC) and they had an item on about interactive home TV based banking. There it was… CD32 is being used as the home unit. The software comes on CD (duh!) so it will be easy to update it from…

John, Do you feel that Dice contains an equal or superset of features that the Manx compiler did? I'm an orphaned Manx user and Lattice is just to expensive for me to upgrade. However, Dice (the commercial product) is new, correct? So I'm wondering which features I'd be missing or…
Thanks Dale. I'm going to start all over from scratch and see what happens. I'll give the stack message a try first though. -Jack
Thanks Andy. I'm using 2.04. I'll give the config file another going over. -Jack
Editors
Message #84629
John You should look at the editor Textra, and think about supporting it along with AME and DME. -ash
We offer a discount for SAS/C owners and for Students. The price for the combo of both is $85. For SAS/C owners (and Manx of course) it is $95.00.
SAS/C and Student
Message #84298
Hey! I'm a registered owner of SAS/C… I get a discount. I'm gonna be a student come July 11… do I get another discount?!

John, I would like to know if you plan to upload a list of what other products you plan to sell. I am interested to see if some of Mat Dillons old programs are still being supported (AmigaUUCP and the crosscompiler Dasm). // W. Clement \\// Amiga & Autopilot 8^)
typing vmake in a cli should bring up the vmake window. Possibly your dcc:config/Vmake.config file is corrupt, or improperly installed ? (also make sure dcc:config/vopts.config is ok). What OS version are you using, BTW ? andy
Shared Library Question
Message #84083
I don't think there is a way currently; I'll have to think about the problem a bit more. andy
At the CLI, say "stack 50000." Now say "VMake." Is that any better than before? — Dale L. Larson, Intangible Assets Manufacturing
Maybe I don't understand your response or the basic premise of VMake but I am starting VMake from the CLI myself. DME doesn't invoke it. Is this correct or am I totally off base on this. -Jack
Sounds like it might be a stack problem (perhaps DME sets a high stack when invoking VMake and your CLI doesn't). — Dale L. Larson, Intangible Assets Manufacturing
I am running a stock A3000. I understand about the apparent console hang from the documentation. However, these are real hangs, usually resulting in system alert messages and reboots. DICE runs fine when I use DME so my paths and assigns must be ok. I am assuming that VMake is runnable…
What are you doing? One thing that does happen which appears to be a 'hang' is when it prompts in the console window for some input. What is your configuration?
#Using VMake
Message #83540
I just got the released version of Dice and have tried using VMake. However it seems that no matter what I do the program always hangs the computer. Should the program work as it is or am I causing the problem by not setting it up right? -Jack
DICE Quetions
Message #82973
I have installed dice on my A4000 and have some questions. I checked out the shared library example. I needed to change the options to use the 3.0 headers but the project would not use them unless I clicked Save. The Use gadget was not applying setting changes to the…
Yes, just send me private CMail (DO NOT POST IT IN THE FORUM!!!) with the information and it will get moved into the order database.
The "super impressive spreadsheet" button is right next to the "compile everything 1000 times faster" button. Ooops, I think that I forgot to include the source for that. Well, you can improvise I am sure. As for the two error messages, I am curious. We got 1.03 from OXXI, I…
The pricing is a little interesting, but here it goes: List price is $150.00 but we have a few discounts available: . $65 for Student upgrading a registered version of DICE . $75 for anyone else upgrading a registered version of DICE . $85 for a Student purchasing DICE outright…
Very interesting.. Sounds like you have a good product.. Is it big $$ or smaller $$?? See already you have messages here! -Tom-
Can the T shirts be ordered by CIS mail? Steve the G. [BEDFORDSHIRE, UK]
John, I received my copy of DICE a day ago. Install went well and I like the first 25 pages of the manual (all I've read so far), especially the "this page is not blank…." comments! And I thought only DoD contractors did that blank page stuff 🙂 I tried…
Look to the previous response, but a couple of other answers: It does not have direct 68040 support, we have chosen to focus on a highly integrated environment for productivity. To my knowledge, there are no AGA problems with DICE. In fact, the VMake program shipped will take advantage of…
Sparse? I guess only 2 days in existance will account for that 🙂 DICE and SAS/C are targeted at slightly different markets. SAS has done an excellent job at dealing with the VERY high end optimizations and large system development. We have concentrated on the user interface and development productivity.…
I've been looking to get into Amiga C and I'd like to know how DICE compares to SAS C. I understand that DICE started as a shareware compiler and now it has turned commercial. How is its Integrated Development environment, 68040 support, does it have any incompatibilities with AGA machines.…
Yeah! I second that request. I haven't seen DICE in quite a while. What's the new commercial version like?
How is your product compared to SAS-C? Just curious, And Thought it looked kinda sparse here!!!! -Tom-
T-Shirt Availability
Message #81379
Just so everyone is aware, T-Shirts should be ready in about 2 weeks. We are shipping Dice orders without T-Shirts and will ship the Shirt as they become available.
#DICE Anyone?
Message #81378
Well, now that this forum is set up, I would like to know who has actually received their copy of DICE.
If the film file was produced with an early version of The Director, it might not be compatible with the latest version of the Projector which expects type 2 film files produced with The Director V2.0, the last revision of the program. Maybe an older version of the Projector would…
#Projector help
Message #74964
I need some help running a program called stitchery that needs the Projecter by the Director. As the program would not work without it I downloaded the projecter from the libraries in this section and put it in the drawer with the program, as it sayed. Then tried to run…
Will do. Perhaps if more people write to this msg, something will happen. It's really a shame to see such a great program vanish. George
I would like a Workbench 2.04/3.0 version of The Director's "projector" program myself. I haven't seen any authoring program that can do as much as The Director. If you get in contact with Keith please post his response!
Director
Message #74077
Keith I have been a user of The Director for a number of years. I purchased it early on and upgraded to the Director 2 when the upgrade came out. I have always found it to be a wonderful program, allowing a degree of control over the machine unmatched by…

Video Card Drivers
Message #70301
Dale; It would appear that someone is confused (besides myself that is…). This is the Amiga Vendor Forum and you posted your message in the Right Answers Group section. Right Answers Group produced the Director and the Director II which are both Amiga Multimedia programming tools. I do not know…

You are not in the correct forum. You want to 'GO ATITECH'. I believe it's the IBM Hardware B forum.
Video Card Drivers
Message #70296
I am a little confused. I was directed to come to this forum for a driver for my video card. It is an ATI Technologies 'VGA1024', circa 1991(OEM Version). I was hoping to find an updated driver for Windows 3.1. Hopefully, 800X600 – 256 colour. Am I in the right…
I second that! I think that The Director 2 with a graphical interface should have been AmigaVision.
I'd like to see ANY new activity from Right Answers. It's a shame such a capable program has vanished. George
If you have any news about Right Answers or Keith Doyle could you please post it? I'd REALLY like to see an AGA compatible "projector" program!
Thanks Tom. I was able to figure out the answer to my own question this time but I'm certain I'll need help with something in the future. I'm just really sorry to hear Right Answers isn't in the picture any more. The Director is so wonderful a program, I'm sad…
Thanks Andrew, I'll try and contact Keith. I had a question, but I was able to work out the answer on my own. Thanks anyway! George
_Amazing Amiga_ had some news about them in last month's (December) Bug Bytes which implyed that there might be some support still available, such as an experimental AGA Projector. I haven't tried to contact Keith in a while myself, but he was very helpful when I did. Anyway, I use…
George, Help would be available from other users, I guess. I don't know if Keith Doyle is still providing support (as Right Answers Group is out of business) but you could always try and contact him directly. His EMail number is 75300,3406. Do you have any specific questions? I haven't…
