I think SMC is doing something like that with its EISA card. It does internal bridging in hardware but also lets you run ARCnet cables in parallel. 4 parallel cables give you 10 Mb/s. Unfortunately I believe the parallel connections are only good between EISA fileservers and I don't believe…
