1 Another place to check for DataBase or Spread Sheet programs for PDP-11, is Saturn Systems, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN if they are still in business. I know they made Saturn-Calc, Saturn-Base, Saturn-Graph, and WP Saturn word processing for RT11, TSX, VMS, and maby RSTS.

I've never heard of "Texas" OS for the PDP-11….I'm sure I would have heard of it somewhere. Especially after recently reading the history of the PDP-11. I have to agree with Bill; it's probably TSX-11 you're looking for. Ray Haas

I doubt very much that Ken Olsen, who is the only person who could be construed as "Head of DEC", either (a) spoke at DEXPO, or (b) said "PDP is DEAD". Especially since the PDP-11/93 and 11/94 were just introduced, and PDP-11 C was introduced within the past year… -Bill

the 990 is a little larger (4-6 inches i think) than an 890. I liked the 990s myself. It depends on which board you are using to drive the 890. Some boards would support both systems (TC-13) while some support up to 890 but not the 990 (TC-12).
