#46163 #Editor for Toaster Message #46178

Tom, I can indeed see where the Interactive equipment would work nicely, but here's the crux of the problem: the EVO-9650 is controlled via serial port. Since the Mediaphile Edit Controller plugs into the serial port, I asked Jim Rickman about adding another serial port for the EVO-9650. He then…

Well, folks, I thought I'd already fulfilled my needs for an editing system for my Toaster-based suite, when I ordered the equipment recommended and sold by Interactive Media. Unfortunately, I called today for tech support, speaking to the guy I ordered the gear from, and he listened to my questions…

George, I had the same problem with not being able to input video to the Toaster and have it work. On the Toaster board itself, directly above the word "Toaster" is a small adjustable capacitor. I hooked everything up, including cameras, fired up the Amiga, and adjusted it to perfection…

Wayne, I ordered mine through Technical Industries in Birmingham, @ 205-945-0433, and dealt with Bill Waterhouse. As far as the fit and finish question, the furniture has not yet arrived. I'll post my detailed experiences as soon as it does. Jerry P.S. My Sony EV0-9650 did finally arrive!

Wayne, Someone else recommended Nigel B about a month ago, but I never could locate a number for them at that time, and ended up ordering Marco. Thanks, Jerry

Brian, I ordered a 3-bay console, gray laminate with oak trim, with an extra upper module, also with 3 racks to accomodate equipment, for about $2K. Jerry

Peter, Who makes Imagemaster?? Who would you recommend buying it from?? Can you do full-motion morphs?? (I hope I'm using the correct terminology on that last one.) No, I'm not on GEnie. Is it worth considering?? I'm a big Prodigy user, and wish there was more active discussion for DTV…

Thanks, Peter. I downloaded and read the press release on CineMorph, and it sounded pretty good. Being used to IBM-compatible software prices, I'm constantly amazed at the low cost of high quality software for the Amiga platform! Jerry

David, You're welcome. I know I had a tough time getting information on what eventually ended up being just 3 manufacturers. Jerry

I thought I'd pass on a little information that someone might find helpful. I had a difficult time finding many sources of cabinetry and such to accomodate desktop video equipment, other than extremely high- priced pieces from Winsted, Stantron, etc. I found a company in Birmingham that sells a line…

What are the recommendations of you experts for morphing software, and how are they priced?? Thanks, Jerry

Pat, What would be the most notable features of the Personal SFC that you'd be giving up?? Jerry

Aki, That's wonderful news! Thanks for the advice, and please excuse my admitted ignorance concerning single-frame VCR's. Thanks, Jerry

Luke, Yes, it's my understanding that one will definitely be needed. The advice I've gotten here and elsewhere seems to point to the "Personal SFC" by Nucleus as a very good choice at a very good price ($~350). Jerry

Luke, I've ordered one, and will let you know what it's like. Jerry

Thanks, Tom. That's the one I'd seen advertised the most, and was leaning toward, but I hate to jump into a purchase without checking for opinions from established users. Jerry

Buy Toaster Where??? Message #42850

I'm starting a video taping and production service, and have decided to go with the Toaster as the 'hub' of my setup. I'd appreciate anybody's suggestions as to who has the best pricing, support, etc. I also have a quick question about the Toaster. I have a couple of NEC…
