Cool, Ron…sounds like CD Remix has some kind of device control going on with a cd deck, yes? Are sound effects and digitized speech coming off the hard drive? Can you output the mixed version to a tape deck or something? Any references in any of the Amiga mags that…

Howdy John, An interview with Peter Drucker, on how capital-ism is being replaced by knowledge-ism. About how the success of the government-dictated MITI consortium in Japan is a myth, how the centralized planning tried to push Mazda and Honda et al. out of the auto market, successfully pushed their computer…

Well, it *is* possible, in a way, to write directly for Macromedia Three-D…take a gander at any 3D Works file. It's in text format. The first section describes the default attributes of various objects. The latter section describes how they act over time. The action is in the lines that…
#6095 Swivel 2.0.4 Message #6125
From: Scott Kildall Macromedia Forum · 3D/Modeling September 1, 1993 7:57 AM
Hi William, Swivel 2.0.4 was a maintenance upgrade for people using Quadras and Centrises ("Centrii?")…anything with a 68040 chip. There aren't any differences in features between that and 2.0.11…it's just to take advantage of the '040 cache-writing scheme. Regards, John Dowdell Macromedia Tech Support

Hi Michele, Should be working fine together…do you have the same model(s) already imported within Swivel? Are you able to import motion for any of the other models? The "bad argument for FindObject" error means that the SwivelScript has motion instructions for a piece of geometry, such as "l_thigh_1", but…
#6060 MacroModel Upgrade Message #6086
From: Scott Kildall Macromedia Forum · 3D/Modeling August 31, 1993 8:19 AM
Hi Clair, MacroModel 1.5 was released in June, and is a significant upgrade…besides adding new features, the engineering team collected reams of user suggestions and incorporated them into the interface. It's a biggie. Upgrade price may vary, depending on when you bought MacroModel 1.0. If you call our sales department…

Was Mickey your project, Kevin? What was its main goal, features?
From: Scott Kildall Macromedia Forum · 3D/Modeling August 30, 1993 7:04 AM
Hi Larry, Yes, external info can be brought into Swivel to manipulate both geometry and motion. The key is the small white booklet "Swivel 3D Script Command Set" that ships with the package. Most, if not all, of Swivel's commands can be specified in a simple text file that's imported…
#6004 SwivelMan help Message #6037

Thanks for your note, Russell…appreciated. It was Doug Wyrick, though, who actually put the labor in on that project…I'll pass along your comment!

Chris, Thanks for the additional info. So, which interactive music titles on CDTV or CD32 did you think the article should have covered? What did they miss? What is available? And I'm curious…why would you doubt the magazine's integrity when nothing is written about certain video tools? The article carefully…

Hi Bruce, Yes, I see what you mean…Swivelizer can be useful, but it's not as flexible as using the Swivel Command Script. Hmmm…I wonder what would happen if you took spreadsheet data that changed over time into Swivel this way, to create a series of models that could morph in…

Hi Bruce, As you found, the Excel Export Option in Swivel only gives the position of objects in the World, and does not provide any information about the actual construction of the objects. The pathform info is stored only in the Swivel native file, in the resource fork of the…

The article was about interactive music, Chris. Not passive videotape. What connection do you see with the tools you mention? John
#33830 Shadow mapping? Message #33969
From: Scott Kildall Amiga Arts Forum · Audio/MIDI August 8, 1993 12:54 AM
Hi Charles, The standard shadow-mapping technique involves rendering a depth map from the point of view of the light source…the final map varies from white to black as a function of distance (ie there are 256 levels of distance). The scene is then rendered from the standard camera view, on…

John, I must admit that this story is pretty sad. You did call the (800) 248 4477 number, right? All I can say is sorry and fortunately it is a toll free number. Scott Kildall Macromedia Technical Support Read action !reply Enter reply. (/EXIT when done) 1: I do understand……
