yes, you would probably like Windows if you have never used any type of GUI system before and if you really hated dos. most folks giggle and say "just like a mac!" when they try windows. i do not know of many people who still liked windows after trying an…

well, considering that 2.1 did install itself, i doubt that anything is out of date. the install log showed that it copied everything over, but i will check just to make sure. all that i know for sure is that everything returned to normal after i rem'd the setpatch command…

i think i have found the AmigaDOS 2.1 problem. for some reason it is the SETPATCH command that causes the system to crash. once i rem'ed it out of any startup-sequence file it was in, the machine booted and installed 2.1 without any problems. do you happen to know why…

yes, wait until the average user finds out how much find windows is when it crashes. how difficult it can be to configure (i'm a tech, and i hate messing around with those config files), how much all that "powerful" software costs, and how much they have to spend on…

If you have ever gotten used to the way the Amiga or Macintosh works, then after a while windows becomes very annoying. after a day or two of use, dos shows it's ugly face as you try to navigate through the program manager. i threw up my hands with disgust…

Yes, 15MB is the min you can get if you really strip OS/2 down. I managed to get mine down to 24.2MB after eliminating everything I did not need (most the little "applets"). I run my bbs under OS/2 (and save my amiga for real work) and even on my…
