Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure that the cards I have can do overlays. At least I can do it manually. What I need is some kind of software that can take the manual process of putting text where I want it into an automatic one based on timing.

I've currently got myself a DOS/Windows video system and I've been looking for some software that will allow me to do subtitleing via my computer. If there are any reccomendations…I'm listening!
