Jack: I have to apologize for not giving you enough information. What I need to find out for you is the filename extension for the files I'm not able to play. Maybe then you can tell me if you've ever encountered similar files and tell me what app I need…

Jack: Thanks for your suggestion. I can play MIDI and WAV files OK. On the Nautilus disk there seems to be a new file name extension that simply isn't associated with any executable. So when I double click on those files I get a Windows error message indicating that no…

I found some files in the Feb. Nautilus in the Windham Hill section that were apparently audio tracks (not John Gorka, the other one). I couldn't play them. Windows said it didn't know which application to use to play them. And of course I didn't know either. Do you?

Paul: You have the combination I am thinking of. How are you connecting these up? How, in particular, do you get MPC sound into the PAS16 from the CDROM drive? Do you use the PAS-16 to drive your CDROM, or another SCSI card?

I don't think it's possible. You can, however, read a Photo CD with wither machine.

Oh, THAT Sprint! I remember Sprint. This was supposed to be the word processor that would kill off all others because it could imitate their keystrokes, and I recall there was even a claim that it could read and write their file formats as well. What a shame that Borland…

Jack: Sorry to butt in, but what is sprint? I know about FontMinder because I have the earlier freeware FontManager. Does sprint do something with printers?
Laptops and CDs Message #41641

Ron: That's more than a nice touch. That's GREAT news for me. I never seem to be able to find out ahead of time whether a device I want to buy requires UMB space. Good to hear that this one does not.

Paul: i have the Disney Sound source. What driver do you use under Windows?
From: Wick Smith CDROM Forum · Drives/Hardware December 28, 1992 7:05 AM
OK, so it's VaporDrive? Too bad. But actually I'm in not particular hurry. It does look as though if you want a drive for less than $500 that has all the good stuff you're likely to want, it's wait til summer. By then there should actually be some competition among…
#34936 Best Cd-Rom Vendor? Message #35103

Steve: Thanks for the tip on Groupware. Which drive do you have and how do you like it? I'm trying to settle on a drive that won't need a lot of firmware or hardware upgrades to be compatible with what's likely to to happen over the next twelve months or…

I'm trying to find that drive that can do it all, and so I've been monitoring the discussions here quite carefully. I saw an ad in a recent Info World that featured the Chinon CD-ROM drives. The top end model claims to be Multimedia, XA and Photo CD multi-session compatible.…

Is there an external version? No room left in my case.

Steve: I also live abroad, so I'd be interested to know whom you use for these international orders. Also, what games did you get?
