AutoLisp Message #22176
From: Michael Murphree Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 24, 1988 10:32 PM
Anyone, In the process of setting up a prototype drawing, we'd also like to to automatically open up the BIRDEYE view of an Artist 10. The card comes with lisp routines to support the card, and we'd like to add a command at the end of the ACAD.LSP file that…
Mystery variable Message #22175
From: Michael Murphree Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 24, 1988 10:31 PM
Anyone, I have a client who does a lot of repetitive work that references the last block inserted into his drawing. We're trying to do some lisp routines to help avoid some of this, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to "default" to the last…

Robert, I'll look out for one. We're on the "get it as soon as it's out" list for Control Systems drivers. Last I heard they weren't going to support anything but the display list processors on AUI. I'll check in the morning to see what's *really* coming down from St.…

Ed, The policy of dealers, however, is to comment on competitive products…. Seriously, if your dealer has a copy of the MicroCAD Ratings Guide, published by the MicroCAD Institute in Cambridge, MA, you can get a good objective comparison of the two.

You might want to read the thread in Section 0 concerning the Video-7 VGA controller. At this time, Video-7 doesn't support 16 color display in the 800 x 600 mode. The AUI and 800 x 600 is supported, but only with 8 colors. The rolling that you are getting on…

If the bid isn't out already, you might consider Paradise Systems' new VGA boards. I got my first one in last week, and it's *fabulous*. Just for kicks, I called their tech support line, and unlike Video-7, I was not put on hold for 25 minutes and then offered a…

I think last time I heard Control Systems was only going to support AUI on the GT series of graphic controllers. You might try them at 800-826-4281.

Check the ROM BIOS version of the VGA card you are using. And check the software drivers you've been provided. Version 1.0 is still to be found on the shelves of your dealers and many distributors, although Video-7 has updated both. I believe the current driver revision is 1.05, and…

You won't save a tremendous amount by going with a 15" rather than a 19" monitor. Have you considered a 19? If so, take a look at the Mitsubishi HJ6905 with a Verticom H16B with Twin Focus or one of the Artist xxGT series. They're just about the best I've…

Corky, Not to leave you out there alone, I lost a sale this morning to a fly by night outfit here. I offered the training, installation, support and "minor" menu customizations for $2850. My friendly "authorized" competitor offered a drop shipment for $1850. The client opted for $1850 and then…

All, I've been on the road this week, and just returning home find that there are more messages here in a week's time than I could *possibly* hope to keep up with. If anyone sent me anything important, please send it again. Otherwise, I'll try and plod through all these…
