This is the first I hear of an AV friendly IDE drive. All I have heard of are SCSI. What is your source stating that this drive is AV friendly? DON (In market for a drive also)
Jerry, I will get either a 2 meg buffer or the SCSI AV drive. I suspect the buffer option will be somwhat cheaper in the short run. Thanks, DON

Charles, I did some research at Seagate and for your info, the drive you have operates by delaying thermal recalibration (which could corrupt the CD-R process) until a non-critical (non read-write) situation. The tech person could not guarantee however that it would work with all CD-R drives. This drive is…
