I believe this has been discussed here before, and the answer was that doing so would violate CompuServe's policy regarding copyrighted software. I even think previous uploads of MSCDEX here have been deleted.

The whole purpose of these forums is the public exchange of information. It seems obvious to almost everyone that if you want to send a message without others responding to it, that you should send it privately. Or did you only want responses that agreed with you?

I have the IBM CD-ROM (Toshiba model XM-3100, I believe) occasionally connected to the Future Domain TMC-1680, and it works fine.
