Printer fonts Message #24882
From: Randy Monk Amiga Vendor Forum · New Horizons July 3, 1991 5:23 PM
Any plans on improving the otherwise wonderful ProWrite by improving its g of elite printer fonts? Optimal spacing just doesn't cut it.

Does this mean that if I have a ram board separate (in another slot) from the GVP Impact Series II controller, that I can expect no problems? (no RAM on the HD controller card). Randy Monk
#16802 2nd SCSI HD Problems Message #17059
From: Randy Monk Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware March 10, 1991 7:51 PM
Dear everyone: With the help of GVP, after all other suggestions were exhausted, I switched the SCSI i.d. numbers of the two drives, and changed the boot priority of the faster drive to -5 (from -10). Now it works like a charm (without having to boot from the slower drive).…

Thanks for your help. I'm going to try switching the SCSI i.d. numbers, and raising the boot priority. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again. Randy

It's all internal. GVP tech support is excellent, but so far unable to solve the problem.

Ditto. Slower, louder, good price. I do have a mount command in the startup-sequence, but I'll try putting it later. Thanks for the help. Perhaps we can compare notes sometime on our similar setups. Thanks again. Randy Monk

Would it make a difference to boot from the slower (Seagate) drive? Thanks again for your help. Randy

You guessed it, a Seagate. So how do I solve the problem? Thanks for your help Randy

Bill: I'm booting from a 3.5" Quantum P40S, with a 5.25" Seagate ST296N (80 meg). You are probably right; it explains the odd behavior. So what do I do? Thanks for helping me. Randy

I've connected a 2nd internal SCSI hard drive to a GVP Impact Series II controller. The trouble is, a cold boot doesnt recognise the 2nd drive. (inaccessible from WorkBench and the CLI) A warm boot recognises it just fine. What gives? Randy Monk

I've connected a 2nd SCSI hard drive to a GVP Impact Series II controller (which already has a hard drive on it). The trouble is, the new (2nd) hard drive is only recognized (and displayed on WorkBench) after a warm reboot. Cold boots don't acknowledge its existence. Suggestions? Randy Monk

I have a GVP Series II controller with a Quantum 40 Meg drive. I have an unaltered startup-sequence and startupII. Whenever I try to execute a hard drive installation program (from several different programs: games, word processors, art programs, etc.) I get the _same_ responses, exactly: execute permission not set…

I use MS-DOS WordPerfect extensively at work (5.1) and after over a year I still don't really like it. I simply have made peace with it. It was clearly designed with the intention of supporting template makers and software course teachers. True, it can do most everything, but it does…
#1701- Word Processor Survey #2 Message #1865

It does, but not well. Even with "optimal spacing" activated, Elite and Condensed printer font spacing comes out looking plenty strange. You're right, though, I wasn't clear. I want ProWrite to handle Elite and Condensed printer font _spacing_ better.

A complete (as I recall) walkthrough is available on CompuServe. Type GO TEG. It saved me from madness on this one.
#18961 ProWrite 3.1 Message #18993
From: Randy Monk Amiga Vendor Forum · New Horizons September 25, 1990 8:12 PM
James, optimal spacing results are better, but still can't be shown in public. Please correct this major oversight. ProWrite is wonderful to see and use, but without Elite and Condensed, I have to turn elsewhere for good output. Keep up the good work, by fixing this problem. Thanks. Randy Monk
#18686 Wish List Message #18914
From: Randy Monk Amiga Vendor Forum · New Horizons September 22, 1990 12:45 PM
I have one wish, and that is adequate handling of Elite and Condensed printer fonts. It seems so basic. ProWrite (which I very much want to like) is not very useful to me without it.
#18805 ProWrite 3.1 Message #18913
From: Randy Monk Amiga Vendor Forum · New Horizons September 22, 1990 12:42 PM
I truly like ProWrite, and would love to make it my regular wordprocessor, but its handling of Elite and Condensed printer fonts prevent me from using it. Fractional fonts or not, this inability of ProWrite makes it useless to me. Please fix it! I want to use ProWrite!
