# 3D Concepts?
Message #21545
Is this the correct forum to obtain info on Autodesk's 3D Concepts software? If so, can someone give me an idea of what it is and where I can obtain further information? If the necessary folks are reading this, I'd appreciate literature sent to: PO Box 11314, Kansas City, MO…
>I hope the Vermont driver works for you… (If I get around to it I may have a >definative answer for you) I looked in the IBMPRO VESA library on IBMNET and didn't find anything that sounded like this. When you said to look in "CIS" where would that be??…
>More accurately, the ATI Graphics Ultra is two cards on one: a 1MB 8514/A >compatible card, and a 512K VGA Well that would explain the lack of 256 colors in higher resolutions. Thanks for the info. -hk
Greg – Thanks for the info on the ATI. Actually, I didn't "purchase" the card for accelerating Windows, but rather because it happened to come with the system I ordered (Gateway) and I didn't think about it NOT working with any of my existing software as expected. I'm rather surprised…
#ATI Ultra w/Ani Pro
Message #12186
I am still having no luck trying to get the ATI Ultra card to function with Animator Pro in higher resolutions. I tried the 8514 Panacea driver for 1024×768, which gives me a small box in the middle of the screen, and an 800×600 GIF will load into the boxed…
Thanks for the tips.

>You should be able to use the Tseng driver included with AniPro for the Ultra >card. (I'm surprised you even have 640×480.) Anyway, delete your aa.cfg file, Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that the ATI used a Tseng chipset, but will try that driver as you suggest.
Davepolicy) in case of price drop! I will certainly keep an eye on things should I decide to get a system from them… that's very useful information. -Heather
Dave.. Thanks for the comments on Gateway. I tried 1024 on a 14" monitor and found it pretty awful, but I think it was the monitor (an Optiquest 2000). The screen wasn't that difficult to read, but the horizontal lines were a different color and thickness than the vertical lines……
Craigrecommendations in mind when looking. -Heather
Craig(live in Kansas City) and have even bought from several of them over the years. None have been very sharp. I guess that for the price, they can't really afford to support you to any extent (like returning phone calls… ). I'm looking very seriously at Gateway. They're offering the…
Hiya, Craig! Thanks for the suggestion on Comtrade. I've seen their ads, but hadn't gotten around to calling them. Someone from here at the office bought from them and wasn't happy… I think they forgot a COM port or some diddly thing, so the guy was really p*ssed. Maybe I'll…
#Vendor & Equip Comments?
Message #33849
I'm considering purchase of a 486/33 system. Would anyone here have suggestions on a mail-order vendor with relatively good equip/sales/service/support that doesn't cost too much? I'm looking in the range somewhere UNDER Northgate… current top contender is Gateway. Has anyone had experience with a company called Micro Generation? Also, has…

Our company is looking to expand to multiple CAD stations within the next 2 years. The end requirement will be for 5-8 stations running AutoCAD, producing mainly 2-D drawings for use in a manufacturing environment. I would appreciate hearing from others who have a similar set-up. Of particular interest are…
