Board Repair Needed
Message #217191
I need a repair on a GVP accelerator board (an 030/40Mhz); seems to me I remember that some vendor was set-up to repair GVP accelerator cards. Can anyone help me with their name, address, phone number, geographic location, whatever??? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. David.
Thanks, got your message. Any help in finding an '030/40 or 50Mhz board would be appreciated. Thanks. David.
Andy, would like to make an offer on your board, and have you ship it on Monday. Am away for the weekend, but you can call me Sunday pm at home, at 703/522-5280, or Monday all day at work, at 202/667-5266. Hope it isn't sold yet. David.
Please call me, at 202/667-5266. If you haven't sold it, I would like to make an offer. Will be in this Friday. David.
Gary, may need that mother board. My 2000 is on the blink. Will let you know. May also need a power supply, for that matter. David.
May need the '030 40Mhz if mine is bad. It's currently in the shop being evaluated. Any info on the history of this board? Any problems with it? Has it been used much. Any info appreciated. Thanks, and will let you know results of the service work. David.
How 'bout $700 bucks US; so will that board work off of our power supplies here in the US? Guess it would have to, and that the power conversion all takes place in the power supply. Second question: how would we handle shipping and payment. Let me know your thoughts.…
#Want GVP 030 or 40 accel
Message #216002
I'm afraid my dear 'ole A2000 is on the blink and it seems to be the accelerator card. Either that or the motherboard, but the accel. seems to be the place to begin. So, does anyone have for sale a GVP 030/40Mhz or 50 Mhz card, or a GVP 040…
I just saw a demo of the Media 100 last Friday. Am very interested in the DPS Perception with RazorPro sofrware to replace Amiga 2000 as an animation workstation. Has anyone seen the RazorPro software? I've had a glimpse of DPS Perception, and liked it very much. David

Fascinating thread, folks. While I know that many of you Flyer-owners are anxious and suffering, I appreciate that you are taking the time to share your woes, thoughts, laments, etc. on CIS. I, who own an A2000 Toaster and am very interested in the future of Newtek, have learned a…
#GVP 040 Accel Wanted
Message #189259
Does anyone have a GVP 040 accelerator they would be willing to sell? I have a flakey GVP 030 accelerator, and was thinking about upgrading anyway. Please write back, or leave me a message at 202/667-5266. –David Welsh
Thanks for the tip in 'netiquette 🙂 –David
Yes, I do have a GVP 030/40Mhz combo in a 2000 that is controlling my drives. I am just starting to play with it, so will check about interference with my mouse pointer when hd being accessed. BTW, what does PMFJI mean? –David Welsh

I'm interested in the 040 board. Could you tell me a few more things about it. When did you buy it? I know there are several speed options on the board; where does the 040/50Mhz fall in terms of speed (I have an 030/40Mhz and am looking at upgrading). Also,…
Thanks Michael. I actually found some last week. But I know there are folks out there who are interested. You may want to post for the benefit of everyone. David Welsh
#Megachip 2000 Wanted
Message #187896
I am upgrading an Amiga 2000 and need to upgrade my one Mg of chip RAM with a 2 Megabyte Megachip 2000. DKB is one manufacturer but they are backordered. Does anyone have one to sell or know where I can get one. Will buy new or used. Get in…
I've read this whole thread as a part of the mourning process. Although a relatively new Amiga owner (I bought a 2000 along with the Toaster), I am amazed by the machine. It seems incredible to me that a machine which processes video so well does not have a viable…
Good point… er, I mean, speaking directly to the folks at NewTek… –David
Just in case you folks might not be aware, NewTek does have it's own BBS, which is a long distance call, but you know that you are getting the NewTek folks. I logged in on several occasions to problem solve some system set-up questions with my Toaster. I would log…
Hank, you mean that his master is coming off of a hard drive working in conjunction with the Flyer, so that he's going from digital to analog. If this is the case, then sounds like a neat way to get first generation analog dubs to be. –David
Most of the loss in dubbing I believe comes from the recording of the information onto the tape and the getting the information back off of the tape. Running through a device like a flyer won't save this generational loss in analog dubbing. I do agree with the response about…
Thanks Matt. I actually use Washington Professional Systems/Rob Foreman in Silver Spring, MD and have been happy with their help thus far. Appreciate the offer, though. –David
Appreciate this info. Will look into it.

Glad to find this Forum. I'm another Amiga fan looking around nervously for what else is out there. Looking hard at FAST and Media 100. Thanks for the good info here. Another good place for info is the Video Interest Group of America Online. They skew a little more Mac…
I own two Panasonic AG-455's, but would a much more mixed review. The good points are that the camera, under the right conditions, can deliver good looking, stable video, and that the VITC does come in handy (although, as you say, it is not resettable). The bad news is mainly…
John, the way you time your system is just the way that I do it, with my S-VHS/Hi-8 to MII system using the Toaster 2000 as a switcher. The thing is, you need a good monitor to do this on, like a SONY with a Trinitron tube that has good…
