I have one of the early A3000s with the "magic ROMS" that boot either AmigaDOS 1.3 or 2.1 from an image stored the on the hard drive. Does anyone know whether such an image for DOS 3.1 exists? I would prefer NOT to have to take out my magic ROMS…
new prices Message #95473
From: KEIR HALES Amiga User Forum · Forum Business/Help April 13, 1993 11:10 PM
I use this forum almost exclusively, and I'm wondering which is the best pricing plan to use. I can't see that forums are covered in the new standard plan. Are they? I only get on a couple of times a month, so if not then I think it's probably better…
486 vs 040 Message #30827
From: KEIR HALES Amiga Tech Forum · Ramblings December 15, 1992 9:40 AM
OK, so there's a lot of talk and hype about the 486, with no retaliation by Motorolla that I can see about the 040. When the 040 was first being advertised in amiga world they used to put comparisons with the 486, but this seemed to go out of style.…

Jim, I d/l the recent discussion about alladin, which was a reproduction of a detailed advertisement, but since you have the real thing, I would be interested to know a little about its intuitiveness, i.e. the learning curve and whether things are obviously situated. Are there different rendering qualities, so…
CALIGARI QUESTIONS Message #23848

Thanks for your help, and yes I find it awkward too. I have another question concerning a potentially powerful utility – PIPE: As the manual reads, it looks as if it could operate similarly to the Macintosh scrapbook but apart from the simple example given in the manual, I cant…

Fkey is an OS2 utility that allows you to program your function keys. The problem is that if you run a program that also uses the function keys fkey takes priority, and you cant use the program function keys. Does any one know of a way to enable fkey while…

WOW! Ask a simple question around here and open up a can of worms who themselves are in a heated debate, spurred by slef confidence. Ahh, the joys of an active BBS. Thznx for all the input, it is obvious that the matter is more complicated than I thought and…

My turbo silver disk has a normal version and an FP version, the latter of which crashes the machine if it can't find a FP. I want to know in general whether calculations are automatically directed to the FP when possible, or does the FP lie dormant in programs that…
