I have nested blocks in a drawing. I only want to extract the attributes from the blocks on Level 1. Is there any way to do this?

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get long plots (i.e. 72" X 36") from a Draftmaster II using Release 9. I have tried LONG PLOT from REAS, but it I am not really pleased with it. Any Suggestions would be appreciated.
