Jack, I admit to being guilty of changing two things at once but need your help on this. I can't seem to get into your support board with JRCOMM. It may just be very very bad lines caused by the rain but it's also my first attempt to use a supra 2400+ allowing other than normal 2400 connections AND i'm trying to get through from the 3000. Can you give me any config reccomendations for connecting such a combination of h/w to your board? The reason for trying the board in the first place is that I can't get JRCOMM to run under WB2.0. Keep getting an NOT ENOUGH MEMORY crash. But I thought I had seen comments around here about some relatively minor problems on 2.0. I'm running version 1.0. Has there been fix? Thanx lGlamb

Larry, You'll have to get 1.01 if you want to use it with WB2.0, 1.0 won't work with it at all. As for the modem. I assume the '+' means MNP, right? The big thing to remember is that an MNP modem works with a locked baud rate between the modem and the computer, usually 2 to 4 times greater than the maximum connect rate. On the comm side, make sure autobaud is off and every phonebook entry is set to the locked baud rate. The modem also will need to have its autobaud off (if it has such a function, it should). Then the comm program and the modem need to be set for CTS/RTS handshake so that you don't lose data. Another thing to remember is that a real Hayes 2400bps modem will not connect with an MNP modem, you have to turn MNP off prior to calling any system with a Hayes attached to it. If you still have problems connecting to the BBS after you've checked that the settings are correct let me know. BTW, the users manual gives some more general info on MNP modems, you may want to check on that too. -jack-

The + is MNP and V.42. Apparently it tries for a V.42 then falls back through the MNP options and finally 2400/1200/300. I think most of my problems last night were due to the rain. Whap kept getting hung up as well but seems fine tonight. How do I upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1? lGlamb
