#Upload policy

Hi Gary! The problem, I gather, lies with Compuserve! If you upload a file as
"text" then compuserve looks for CR to delimit lines. It seems to truncate
text that has no carriage returns down to lines of about 128 bytes. You can,
of course, upload a file as "binary", but then folks who don't have xmodem
can't download them by simply typing them. Catch 22! Best solution seems to
be upload with cr/lf's.

Oh well, guess we have no reprieve from CIS. At least we don't have to upload
files in EBCDIC.

Didn't you hear about the new SIG software…everything must be in EBCDIC,
fixed 80-character card image format (UPPERCASE ONLY), oh, and only numeric
characters in column's 1-7. 😉
