Bill, Humm…you used LZ to extract from a .ARC file? Don

Don: What do you use to extract an .LHA file? ?|^] Ray Lewis

Ray, Use LZ.LZH from Library 16. The switches are the same as for LHARC, but you are required to type the .LHA on the end of the filename. Betty

Thanks Betty. Good to "see" you again! (I've been away for a while.) Now living in Alexandria, VA! ?|^] Ray Lewis

Virginia!! I did not realize you had moved. It's really good to have you with us again. I've missed your input here. It is always worthwhile. But if you had to move, surely it would have been better to move to Texas. Betty

Well, from New York to Virginia is one small step back toward Dallas! I'd move back to Texas in a New York minute, but the _job_ I currently have is here. Anyway, I've always wondered what living in "Wonderland on the Potomax" would be like, and now I'll find out! ?|^] Ray Lewis

You should never lack for entertainment or interesting places to go. I was there for a week last summer, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Someday, I'm coming back to spend a week or two working in the National Archives, but not soon. Maybe one of those jobs will bring you back to Dallas eventually.

Well, it's highly probable I will be coming to Fort Worth on business over the year, since my new employer is the corporate office of General Dynamics.

When you come, I certainly hope you will get in touch. I know, of course, that you have many, many friends in the area. Also, GD is in far west Ft. Worth, and I live about half-way between Ft. Worth and Dallas – quite a few miles away. But I'm VERY close to DFW. Betty

Speaking of people that haven't been with us in a while…Remember Ethan? Well, he sold his Amiga and bought a PC. I hope he doesn't regret his decision…but I think he might, in the long run.

I'd missed Ethan. I agree – hope he does not regret it later.

Don, No, the LHARC file was not archived at all. I was advised that renaming to LHARC and putting it in the current path would be enough. It wasn't!! LZ extracts OK from .LZH files and PKAZIP handles .ZIP but I can't extract ARC at the moment. Bill

ARC files require the utility named, uh, ARC. You'll find it in library 16 as ARC.EXE. -sja

Bill, for .ARC files, you need ARC.EXE from Library 16. It is not at all the same as LHARC. Betty
