Adam (& Scott …), Please do not post messages about "hacking" Street Map. The manufacturer has asked that we not allow these messages in this forum since Xmap is a different product with a much higher price tag. My understanding is that DeLorme will me re-manufacturing the hackable discs since they should not have shipped that way in the first place. Thanks! – Lupes

Steve, I have already stated I won't repost that information publically, out of consideration for the fact that Delorme provides user support here on the forum. I had no idea they had objected to the people who originally posted the information, and I was simply reposting other's notes in response to a direct request to do so. In any case, you won't see it again from me, and please accept my apologies if it has caused anyone any heartburn. Now, OTH, I don't appreciate companies that 'cripple' a product, remarket it under another name, then sell the "additional" features at a higher price. Before someone gives me a lecture on marketing, I understand why they do it and could easily debate either side of the question, and Delorme is in good company (i.e., just look at Intel and the 486sx). I just don't like it. But that is ok — nobody is forcing me to buy the program, and it is probably still a good value at $99. …Scott
