Could someone please tell me what good it did me to download the Utopia font family which DOES NOT contain the pfb files? Pagestream 2.2 needs the pfb files for the font to be of any use at all. Does ProPage not have this requirement? (Although I don't see how) Did I waste all that time downloading 200k worth of useless diskfiller? Branden Beachy 72557,107

Two things: 1. The contents of the file are stated in the description. 2. The .pfb files are there, but are not called by that name. The file contains standard postScript fonts, which are not required to have an extensions such as pfb. The files you want are: Utopia-BoldItalic Utopia-Bold Utopia-Regular -larry

Larry I understand what you are saying, but how do I get Pagestream to recognise the font. I renamed the main files with the .pfb extension and it still would not work. What do I need to do? Branden Beachy 72557,107

Hi. The problem with the Utopia fonts and PageStream is that they are not PFB fonts; PFB is the IBM standard of Type 1 fonts and PgS uses PFB's. What these fonts are, are flat files, or straight ASCII files. Mirror Image's software has no trouble reading them… wish everybody else treated Type 1's the same…<sigh>. Sorry, but they're of no use to you (unless you find an ASCII-PFB converter; I've never heard of one though…) Gary BRusanowski Mirror Image Productions

Gary: Thanks for the information! (even though it isn't what I wanted to hear 🙂 By the way, what kind of software does Mirror Image have? I don't recall hearing of it before. Thanx again for the info. Branden Beachy 72557,107

We sell font conversion programs for PPage and PDraw. There should be some demos up here with text files. Just search for "MI". Gary
