Thanks for the tips, When you say use a sync generator (set genlock on Targa) do you mean that the targa has a build in sync generaator or do i need to get a separte piece of equiptment to help with the sync problem. If so what type of sync generator do you suggest with 3ds and panasonic ag 7750, I also use a BCD 5000 for the ontroller. prices would be helpful also thanks, ROCK

Kevin probably won't reply til Monday, so I'd like to have a stab at answering this one (he can correct me if I'm wrong). The targa+ does have an on-board sync-generator but, you can buy more accurate external sync-genertors which you can sync or genlock all your equipment to. This is supposed to be a better solution since all the equipment is syncing to a high quality sync signal. All video equipment has to sync to a common signal to be used successfully. For this type of operation you need to add the G parameter to your TARGASET environment variable in your AUTOEXEC.BAT

when you say add the G to targaset do you mean i need to have a targaset command in the autoexec.bat. I thought you only used the targaset when using programs that did not utilize the targa+ option? Currently I only use targaset under a menu program for the old tips program. that is when i boot up i have an option to use targa+ or old targa. I always use the targa+ with 3ds. therefore no targaset options thanks for your help in answering my questions.

Martin, OK on part of that, but in a Targa+ mode, Genlock is set by using the TARGEDIT utility. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates
