CBM Lowers Price!

Commodore has reduced prices again on the 2000 and 3000.
CBM has drastically reduced the dealer cost altho they've not (as of yet)
sent a new suggested retail price list to dealers. Because of this, there
is really no new price to point to, but, in general, "street price" varies
from dealer to dealer anyway.
Here are a couple of examples of pricing that my dealer is currently
selling…
A2000HD w/1084 — $1505
A3000 25/50 with $1950 — $2585
Since my dealer discounts, but not crazily so (he's been in business for
over 10 years and would like to remain so) you may find pricing higher or
lower in your area.

Heck that A3000 25/50 with the 1950 sounds better than that Power Up deal!

My dealer told me that the pricing is "as good or better than the Power
Up". Part of that pricing is that there is currently a $500 rebate on the
3000. The price I quoted was after the rebate. The way my dealer is
handling it is the customer signs over the rebate and the rebate is sent to
the dealer. Otherwise, the customer would pay $500 more then sit around
and wait for the check from CBM.
I do have the new dealer pricing but don't think it's particularly
appropriate to post it — and since there is not suggested retail pricing
on this stuff (well, if there is, my dealer hasn't gotten it yet) it's
tough to point to what you should expect to pay — that's why I posted a
couple of example prices that my dealer's charging.
my dealer here in Cleveland has:
A2000HD/1084S… $ 1419
A3000 25/50/1950… $ 2429
A3000T 25/200/1950… $ 3619
A3070 tape drive… $ 499
A2286 ATBB… $ 439
A2088 XTBB… $ 219
He also announced UNIX SVR4 v2.1 for the A2000 & A3000 (no price quoted).

LOWER PRICED 3000!!!! GACK! I just bought mine a week ago and I paid $2000
for a 25/50 after the rebate, at an educational discount… I knew I should
have waited….
Oh well, next CBM will introduce it's new line of Amigas which put my
3000 to shame at a lower price…I should enjoy it while I can..
Heck, Alan, at least you got a NEW 3000…. I bought a 3000 USED (it's over
a year and a half old) with a used 1950 monitor, just a month and a half
ago… all for $2300. Now a new one can be had for a couple hundies more.
Oh, well. At least this one works and has had a memory upgrade (6 Megs),
plus the 2.04 disks.

Finally some good news! I'd thought Commodore had taken leave of their
senses with that last price increase. These prices are a little more in
line.
