Regrettably, I did not bother remembering where it was. I live in
Wisconsin, these days, and don't get to SF often enough to make it worth
remembering.

I'm in Madison, WI.
I'm also in Madison, WI.
Yes, I know – you sold me an AutoCAD R11 last summer. 🙂
Yeah, I know. I just wanted to let David know that there are a few of us.
You also came to see 3DS with a couple of guys. For some reason, I didn't
think you had 3DS, but as a developer it makes sense that you'd have it…
Do you have a framebuffer, animation controller, or VTR? (Targa+ or ATVista,
Diaquest, etc.)

Yes, I stopped by your office for a demo with some of the guys from
Software Publishing Corporation. Aside from making Harvard Draw, we've all
very much into 3D, too, but on the Mac and Amiga.
I have a Toaster, which outputs clean NTSC, but it's a roundabout way to
view PC images. My PC has a simple HiColor VGA. I do have a BCD-RS232 and
a Panasonic AG-6300, which can perform some simple editing, but not
single-frame recording. I spend too much time writing translators and
writing articles for computer magazines, that I haven't been able to
justify the expense for animation recording. It sure would be fun, though.
I'm in Milwaukee, WI. But I'm in Madison, WI once a week.
We have a user group here in Milwaukee, do you? <g>
Anil
I've been meaning to investigate your group! I remember your name from
postings on Exec PC, too. Syndesis is a software company here in Madison –
we make 3D translation software, among other things. We made the 3D Studio
importer that's licensed as part of the Video Toaster 2.0 software, as well
as the DXF import, and Wavefront import. We support a number of other
Amiga and PC and workstation formats.
How large is the group? If you have literature describing it, my address
is Syndesis Corporation, N9353 Benson Road, Brooklyn, WI 53521, voice (608)
455-1422, fax 455-1317.
Anil,
I finally got the offline read/repy software working. Thought I'd give a
test reply when I saw you message here. When is the next Milwaukee user
group?
