Impulse, I have a problem with a cylindrical wrap I made. The wrap is onto a cylinder, and goes from the botton of the cylinder 1/4 way up. I used repeat to get the brush to repeat on the other 3/4 of the cylinder. In effect doing four wraps of the same brush. This works fine in the integer version of Imagine, but the Floating Point version only calculates the first 1/4 of the cylinder properly. The rest is the underlying colour of the object (white). Any fixes for this? I can go in and manually map the image 4 four times for now. Thanks, Kevin Ushko Edmonton, Alberta

I haven't run into this problem myself, but you might also try asking over in the AmigaArts Ray Tracing section. You're likely to get a better response there, since not everyone sees messages in this forum. Steve

<grumpff> You'd think Kevin could expect an answer in this Forum rather than cross-posting to AmigaArts — after all, this is the Impulse Forum. Where the heck are the Impulse folks to answer our questions? We've been left to discuss amongst ourselves for months now. Blaq!

Charles, Maybe they're too busy working on the MS-DOG version of Imagine to frequent their own forum. Mike Reid WHAP!ping from "The Field Of Dreams"

If you think this is bad you should see what the Impulse forum at Portal looks like. Quite pathetic, both places. –Paul –pt–not seattle– 😉

We are here as usual, replying to questions and cconcerns where the informed user experts like Charles and John Pendergrass, among others, have not taken care of them. Compuserve's user base is an excellent source of information on our products, and we also use email to help those who contact us that way. We had a conference here with Mike Halvorson several weeks ago that answered many of your questions. Please rest assured that we are listening – and responding. Steve Gillmor Impulse, Inc.

That's very good news! Thanks, there were times when I couldn't get ANY help. A bigger manual and your monitoring here should help a lot. –Paul –pt–not seattle– 😉

It would be a lot more helpful to everyone if you used the message base instead of e-mail, because those of us who want to know the answers to some of these questions too can't partake of the answers! It would also keep people from asking the same things, if they've seen the answers here. There have been too many questiosn that haven't been answered here in the message base, and it's here for participation. How that's off my chest, keep up the good work! The comapany I work for uses Imagine and we love it.

I'll second Steve's comments. Impulse has given great service (through e-mail) when I've had problems that were not answered by others. Kevin Ushko Edmonton, Alberta

I was more concerned with the lack of dialog among the users that share ideas and techniques. I don't have the time to experiment thoroughly, I like to soak up info while lurking 🙂 Thankyou for your assurance on the other issue, -Paul –pt–not seattle– 😉
