That is unfortunate. There are, however, many competent dealers around. My local dealer H.T. Electronics has always been good about showing equipment. You may wish to show your friend to this forum. The real users in the Amiga community are the REAL CBM salespeople. -Jonathan

Dave: I have shown him around the forum (although he currently doesn't use a computer at home), so has has seen the wonders of AutoPilot, and many a thread on Dos/Windoze, OS-2, Amiga, etc. It has been one of the things which got him seriously interested in buying the Ami in the first place. I don't think he's completely scared off, but the experience at that dealer left a bad taste in his mouth for the Ami. I think it helped that I felt the exact same way myself, and I have owned my computer for over a year, and I'm VERY happy with it. I think he will eventually come around, but I hat to think that it is only because of the *price*, I hope he would be enthusiasic about picking up an A1200 and taking it home and learning to use it all day… and all the PD hacks / utilities I can give him. Finally what you said is true: the REAL salespeople are the Amiga users. — Dave

And the REAL Amiga dealers, in most places, are the tightly knit and highly competent users groups. Any new Amiga owner should join one, if they can.
