all, anyone hear if an a1200 will blow up if a ROM switch is put in it?

Tony, I don't know what ROM you would plan to switch to. Only 3.0 will work on the 1200 because previous versions 2.04 and 1.3 are only 16 bit and are not compatable with the 32 bit architecture of the 1200. Sorry, bud! / /_ /_/onathan __/chmidt – On AutoPilot from CompuServe Land

Tony, The A1200 hardware requires Kickstart 3. You could put a ROM switcher in without blowing it up, but it's not going to do anything with a 1.3 or 2.0 ROM in it except crash when you turn it on.

Tony: Rom switchers are designed for the A500/A2000 ROM. The ROM in the 1200 is probably different, and so I doubt that any of the ROM switchers will work in it. // -Mike Schiller \X/ AMIGA! On AutoPilot in sunny Fort Lauderdale

Actually, when I think about it, the A1200 has 32-bit ROM access, so the switcher wouldn't even be pin-compatible…
