We have a Compaq 486/50i configured with 16MB RAM, 1024 VRAM, Samsung
17" SVGA monitor, 240MB HD, ACAD 12, and 3DS. We are using 3DS to render
animations but have only been able to achieve 640×480 resolution. We want to
get higher resolution, if possible, but can't find the correct driver to do it.
Compaq recommended we use their RCCPQADI.EXP, but it gives us "unable to
initialize driver" error messages. What am I missing? Any ideas will be
appreciated. Thanks.
Your problems with the Compaq RCCPADI.EXP are the same as mine! I had
installed 3DS earlier, and found the RCCPADI.EXP worked fine.
I re-installed 3DS for the Weitek version (same machine) and can't get the
RCCPADI.EXP beyond your error message "unable to initialize driver".
I'll work some more on this myself.
But let me know if you find out what's going on!

Nik,
Do you have a Compaq DX2-66? I seem to recall a Pharlap problem that's fixed
with a patch to the Compaq driver. Let me know if you want me to find that
thread.
