#CIS slowdown?

When I entered today (first day after the lowering of CIS rates) I noticed
a noticeable sluggishness in the data transfers… Could it be that CIS
already has a lot of new users? I hope they've made the necessary
adjustments to receive all these new users…

Jorge,
CIS is expecting that the first few days they might experience some
heavier than normal system loads. They're pretty much prepared for it,
will be monitoring rather closely and perform load balancing as needed.

I work for CompuServe. Overall, we are not really expecting a big
increase in usage according to the test markets we have done. Currently
we have about 23 mainframes with 16 of them being model SC-30. These are
very new mainframes and by the end of April, we will have added 30 more
SC-30's. By the end of the year (roughly) we will be adding another 50 of
them. I hope this will ease your anxiety about the matter. The company
is certainly making efforts to correct the problem.

Today (March 6th) I entered CIS and didn't note any slowdown… The system
was responding normally.

Don't forget who owns CIS…..H&R Block and it's close to tax time. Maybe they
have a lot of business.
