I'm looking for some accounting software for a small business. The only packages I've seen are Phasar, Best, Desktop budget and Service Industry Accounting. Unfortunately, all I have for these is the package name, I don't know who makes them, or where they are. Does anybody out there have any recommendations, or can someone point me to the authors of these (or any other) packages? Many Thanks!

Gene, I believe Service Industry Accounting is handled by: Oxxi, Inc. P.O. Box 90309 Long Beach, CA 90809-0309 1 (213) 427-1227 Chris

Thanks for the info, but someone else advises me that this product is not fully supported by Oxxi. Might give them a call, anyway, just to see what they have.

Gene, Correction, it is not OXXI but Brown-Wagh Publishing Brown-Wagh Amiga Software Publisher 1-408-395-3838 1-800-451-0900 Not sure if the 800 number is still good. The info in my database on them is a bit dated. Someone else is right! It is not supported by Oxxi nor the correct publisher Brown-Wagh. I have the program, but I never got it fully implemented but it wasn't that great! Chris

Ok, thanks for the info. I think we'll pass on this package.

Chris, This is news indeed if Oxxi is handling SIA now. As I remeber Brown-Wagh were distributing it. They have made a moderate success of themselves in the MsDos world and have given up on the amiga. …Steve ====>>> Motorola 68030 Inside <<<====

Steve, Your are absolutely right! I stand corrected, Brown-Wagh Amiga Software Publisher 1-408-395-3838 1-800-451-0900 I don't know if the 800 number is still good, but that is what's in my database. Chris

Gene, Check out `The Accountant II" by KFS software. It is a complete accounting package with mutliple ledgers, POS, set up so you can use your as a cash register, inventory, payables, recievables, payroll, security ect. If you write of call they will send you a demo version. Stay away from Service Industry Accounting, it has bugs and is not being supported anymore (except for the MsDos version. Gene, Sorry….but Brown Wagh is NOT the publisher of Service Industry Accounting anymore. The program was developed by a company called SYBIZ, and they are now supporting the program directly. I reviewed it for Amiga World, and use it myself, so I get the mailings. SYBIZ people said B-W did a lousy job of supporting the Amiga market, so they took it back. I am at home now, and the phone # info is at my office. If you still want it, or have questions, leave me E-Mail (I'll get it quicker that way) Gary

Gary, Gee, I mistakenly suggested Oxxi, then was reminded it was Brown-Wagh, so I posted their number. Now I find I'm still out-of-date with the info. We need a national clearing house on program information, updates, desertions, price changes, etc. You ain't kidding about the great non-support from Brown-Wagh for SIA. I have the program (I don't get the mailings, why?) and it had problems (bugs). B-W never was much help. Is there a newer version? Please post the new info on the publisher's address and telephone numbers. Chris
