Today, trying to recover some R/W error on my Syquest I make a Verify Data on Drive with my HDToolbox (I got a A3000T). The disc scan was interrupted by a generic error message. After this I am unable to reuse the cartridge. The green light on Syquest goes flashing and the drive refuse to work with this cartridge. With other cartridges all works flawlessy. Trying to low-level format the cartridge was unuccesful. After two hours the drive was already formatting. I can't also (obviously) dos-format the drive, Partition it and, in last analysis, use the cartridge. Is there somebody with my same problems ??? I am running on a A3000T, 16 Mb Fast, 1 Mb Chip, Conner 120 Mb, Seagate 500 Mb, C CD ROM Chinon with file-system Xetec and a Syquest 88Mb. I have burned a cartridge ? Bye Massimo Brogioni

I'm not sure about the symptoms you talked about. But I once had a Syquest cart that had an error on it. I just called up Syquest and was able to perform a swap with them. The new cart worked perfectly. Wandering Joe…

Massimo, I have a cartridge that is doing the same thing. I spoke to George Wong at Syquest and he asked that I send it to him. He told me he can fix the thing, that the cartridges don't go bad. It seems that my AMAX macintosh stomped on this cartridge, and I guess the Amiga can do it too! Your English looks fine to us, Massimo. You wouldn't believe how un-critical we are about such things! (Many of us are not too good with it, and it is OUR native language.) —Betty
