<<I still get a GPF when trying to write a script in aawin or when using the Visual Basic control from Autodesk.>> Is this with VB 2.0, by any chance? We are having various troubles with VB 2.0; our extensions, while not exactly breaking, did fracture a bit when Microsoft changed so many things in VB.

PhilD, Actually I get them in both versions, but I'm waiting anxiously for the VB control upgrade. When? Randale

I have no reports of GPE errors with our extension and VB 1.0. Seems strange to me that you should getting that. As far as when will a new version of the extensions for animation be out, I have no information on that at this time.

PhilD, Thanks for the info! I think that my problem is with the TIGA driver from Herc since they have been able to fix at least some of it. One other question. I've just loaded 1.3 and can't get it to work in SVGA modes in the VESA driver with my Matrox Impression 1024. Do you have any experience with this board or any info on how it might be configured to run with AAP 1.3. It's an S3 based 24 bit board with, I think, a vesa bios. Randale

I've also got an Impression 1024, and it works fine in vesa mode. Make sure you delete the aa.cfg file and reconfigure for the higher resolution. That should do ya. Yann Bertaud – I.D.L. Autodesk

Yann, I've tried everything to get this baby to work, and I just can't seem to connect. Do you get it to work with 1.3 in 1024X768? What's the secret? Randale

I missed the beginnings of this problem. If Yann doesn't give you the help you need, send me a repeat of the details of the trouble.

I think that maybe it is a hardware problem with my Matrox Impression, or perhaps a conflict. I have the board in a DEC machine with LB Video on the motherboard that has been disabled by jumper. I'm trying to figure out if that may have something to do with the problem. I'll keep after Matrox and if no solution will be back in touch. Interestingly, I have two machines. One with a Herc Chrome which runs aa pro ok but can't show animations in windows, and the other with the matrox which can show animations in windows but can't run aa pro. Tough dilemma. My artist and I are constantly switching machines. Randale

An interesting problem. Sounds like a probable memory conflict, to me. Especially since there is something wrong with each machine. When you say that the one machine can't show animations under Windows, is that full screen animations only, or even in a window?

Strangely enough, I had it working at 1024, then I had to switch down to 640 to create an animation and since have been unable to get back to 1024. I now remember that it's been a common problem since 1.3 started shipping. certain VESA cards just would not work at 1024 resolution. It looks like the Impression is one of those cards. I am only able to run the AA pro ast 640 with the vesa driver. I may have an idea on how to fix it. I'll give it a try today or tomorrow and report back to you. Yann Bertaud – I.D.L. Autodesk.

I haven't worked with the Matrox Impression 1024 card. But if it has a VESA driver then AAPro ought to be responsive to it. You should ask this question over in section 2, the AAPro section; you might get more answers over there.
