Hi; I have a question about TurboPrint. Will it work with a Desk Jet 500c? And if it does, will it make me change to the color cartridge when I choose to print as a graphic from a program like Excellence!? I know I can get around this problem by choosing to print in black and white from Prefs but I find it to be a pain in the a** to have to keep changing system settings and/or printer drivers for all of the different things I do with the printer. I guess what I'm really looking for is a configure and forget printer driver for the DJ500C that doesn't require a computer science degree to configure. <:^). I'm not sure about the answer to your question, Charlie, but you can call the makers of TurboPrint directly in Germany at 08341/74327. I'm sure they can give you a complete answer. Martin

Charlie; I have TurboPrint V.2 and a HP 500C. I'm afraid that I've got so much to do I haven't had time to get it up and running. I can tell you though that it has a specially written printer driver for the DJ 500C, so it must react to the requirement of cartrige change. Hope this helps some. Greg.

Charlie: You can save TurboPrint settings from an on-screen Prefs menu and maintain alternate settings as files. So switching back and forth from B&W to color wouldn't be a time-consuming problem once you've set up things the way you like. Whether that will help you swap ink carts is another matter.

Ron; Thanks for the input. I called the TurboPrint folks in Germany today and with what I could decipher from that conversation (their english is as good as my german) :^), and what you just told me, I think I'll try it out. Charlie Badalati APing from Wurselen,Germany
