Hey –
Does anyone out there actually have a Compucolor that actually works?

What's compucolor?

CompuColor was a 8080 based computer back in 79-82 or so. Offered ROM basic,
and 128×128 8 color graphics. Massive 52k floppy drive<g>. 16k ram standard
(or was it 8?), upgradable to 32k. No, it did not run CPM.
If someone has one that works (must include working floppy), please let me know
if you want to unload it.

What do you want THAT thing for? Seriously… If you'll tell me, I'll
call this place in the valley here that sells an unbelievable
assortment of old computer stuff. Last time I was there, I almost
bought a "shrink-wrapped" copy of the Top View SDK! It is one of the
wildest places an "old timer" can visit. (The SDK was $20, I think it
sold for around $1000 when ot first came out)
They've probably got a CompuColor in ots original box!

The Compucolor was the second machine I ever used, the first was a HP9000 in
78. Compucolor in 79. When I was cleaning out a closet the other week, came
across a whole box of games that I wrote for it in 79-80. Some of them were
cool. Basically, want to fire it up and play them. Kind of fun playing old
stupid games on a old machine.
Naturally I not willing to pay a fortune for it but if it's cheap, what the
heck.

PMJI but could the Compucolor be the same as a ColorComputer or CoCo from
RadioShack? I had one of those. Even added extended basic! (WOW! the
technology!<G>) But I couldn't afford the 500$ floppy disk drive!!! How times
change…

No, the CompuColor is not the same machine that Radio Shack also sold. Amazing
how much $$$ we blew in those days…<g>
Actually, come to think of it, amazing out much $$$ we still blow…
