We have an animation which features two vehicles coming towards each other on a road at night. The only lights in the scene are the vehicle headlights. The problem is the road shoulder and the surrounding green grass areas are flickering/changing colors as the vehicles move. Is this due to the moving spotlights? We're rendering at 320 x 200. Currently we have just the 8-bit display… is that our problem or is it something more sinister? Any input on how to prevent this flickering would be appreciated. I've tried messing with the ambient light, specular highlights of the materials, brightness of headlights, etc. None of these things has eliminated the problem; they've only changed the intensity of it.

Are you using a custom pallette? This _may_ help your problem if it is pallette related. -Alan Iglesias

You might try turning up the texture filter setting from the default of 0.6 to a higher setting (1.0 or more). Either that or pick a custom pallette for rendering or render with dithering off.
