#Possible Bug 2.01 (a)
6 messages in this thread
We would like to report a possible bug in 3DS 2.01A . We have confirmed that
this bug (if it is) does not exist in 2.0 but it might be in 2.01 as well.
Please check your version's performance and let's find out.
BUG: No wildcard rotoscopeing capabilities. Cannot use the wildcard in
textures or backgrounds. Error messages "Can't Find Wildcard"
[ASuggests that we don's have the right map path or image path set, but that is
not the problem. Switching to 2.0 fixes this. Can anyone confirm this
problem?

I duplicated the problem here also.

Ken, I need to know exactly what filename and numeric series you were looking
for with the wildcard. If it was alpha+4-digits, and your sequence started
with 0000, it should work fine. If the sequences that you're looking for with
wildcards don't start with 0000's, you'll have to use an .ifl file (MAKIFL.ZIP
in DL9 makes this very easy).
So, please give me more information and I'll tell you exactly what's going on.
We're going to re-code the wildcard stuff for r3 so you can start at a non-0000
frame (really… I promise :-).

Gary: The sequences are numbered correctly (beginning with x0001.tga) I think.
So what's happening? When we use the fli file, of course, we just designate the
.fli . Is this not how it should work?

The sequence has to be numbered starting with frame 0000. Add a 0000 frame to
it and see what happens.
I'm not sure what you meant by your reference to using a fli. For what? As
what?

Roger the 0000 <blush>.
Re: The FLI file. We were attempting to rotoscope a FLI file onto a polygon
in another animation. The color pallette wouldn't "stay put". Please see our
other message today for more details on this and related problems.
