Pardon my jumping in, but I had the same problem….If you are using Corel Draw
3.0 you may import this file (TGA, GIF, etc). and resize to the full screen
with complete flexibility for pixel adjustment. Also, check the HP Forum for a
rvised HP550C print driver. The advantage of this driver is its ability to
handle HP Glossy Paper, which you will want to use once you see how it handles
these prints. A bit pricey (approx. $1 per sheet), but well worth it for
presentations. Any problems, please leave me an Email and I'll walk you
through it.

I was thinking or buying the 550c for office work and mainly the color
for 3ds printing. How do like the prints from the 550c? Have you had any prints
from a printing service, and if so how would they compare to the prints out of
the 550c. I was hoping to find a 3ds user with a 550c to find out the good and
bads of the machine. How about output time?
Any little review you care to make would be greatly appreciated, my me and
maybe others on this forum.

Carl, I don't think there is any comparison with the prints form the 550C to
those of a printing service…i.e. 300 dpi resolution vs. 4Kx4K resolution.
But this is great for an in-house verification of what you want to print
outside for final. Its also good for a quick and dirty (spelled INEXPENSIVE)
set of brochure prints. The method I use is to create the TGA files and print
through the windows environment vis a vie through CorelDraw 3.0. A full size
sheet will take approx. 3-4 minutes (depending on complexity). See my earlier
msg re the new print driver however. This, and the glossy paper make the
effort worth the exercise. If you sendme your address, I would be happy to send
you a copy of somethng printed as such.

I apprieciate your quick and informative response on the 550c. I quess I'm
trying to find a printer to fill both my 3ds needs and my business
printing needs (bills, invoices, letters and etc.) yet keep the price as low as
possible. Funny but some how I'm spending more on equipment then I'm bringing
in. Gee isn't that goverment-nomics. I would really apprieciate any samples. Be
glad to pay any postage.
I read over in the HP forum that a lot of people were complaining of the color
jets or the color itself (cyan) drying up or something and
requiring new ink cartages all the time. Any problems along that line.
Also, have you noticed your prints being quit a bit darker on the paper than
what you see on the monitor. I took a sample to a print shop and the
print was a lot darker than what I had created on the screen, with the shop
telling me that was as light as their could make it.

Thank you for your reply. I'm not familiar with Corel Draw 3.0 other then
reading the name in the magizines. Will it let you print a TGA file in 24bit
color, or will it take the TGA file and squeeze the color palette in to 256
colors? What do you use Corel Draw for? Do you make texture maps in the
program? Can it make 24 bit texture maps?
So many Questions.I thank you for the information and any other help that you
can give me
