#Photo CD, daisy chain
6 messages in this thread
I wonder if anyone out there has the solutions for my two problems:
1) I have two Mitsumo CD-ROM drives. The first was bought last year
and the interface card did not allow XA extensions (it couldn't
access Kodak Photo CDs). I bought a second one recently and the
16 bit card which comes with it does allow XA. Now is the problem:
how (if at all) can run both drives from one card? I tried simply
daisy chaining them, but that didn't work. Is there a solution?
2) Much mor important: where can I get softawre to SEE the images
in PCD format on the Photo CDs? I live in France and Kodak told
me the SW will not be available until Sept. This is very
frustrating, since I already have a lot of my slides on Photo CDs
that I cannot visualise on my PC. Does anyone sell the SW (Kodak
or anyone else) in USA?
Thanks for any help

You can try calling Kodak in Rochester, New York, at 716-724-4000. Ask for the
Kodak Customer Assistance Center and explain that you want to place an order
for overseas delivery of Photo CD Access software. The US price is $39.95.
You will need a credit card.

Strange,
Escom in Germany are selling the Kodak Photo CD Access disc for DM89. That
having been said, the software is English and your source might have been
talking about a French version? Escom's price relate fairly well to the US
List (after postage, TVA, etc.) I believe that ESCOM have opened up outlets in
France, but that might be marketing hype. Otherwise the do Mail order
+49-6252-7902-0 (Fax +49-6252-7902-22). No, I don't work for them but they sold
me my copy to use with my Mitsumi LUO05S.

Bahman,
You should be able to purchase our Photo CD Access software in Europe.
You might try checking with our London office for specific dealer information
44-081-427-4380. There are also a number of Photo CD enabled software packages.
For instance Micrographics Picture Publisher, Photostyler, Corel Draw, Photo
Magic, Image In Color and Photo Factory.
