Larry,
Well, I'll give you my very biased opinion. I work for Media Vision and I
can strongly recommend the Pro AudioStudio 16. It comes with Windows-based
speech recognition software, CD-ROM drivers for the built-in SCSI interface,
MIDI sequencer, excellent tools and it's a lot of fun!
And Media Vision hosts a forum here on CompuServe. Just type "GO
MEDIAVISION" to talk with our customers and sysops.
Call 1-800 348-7116 to get info on the product.
Hope you can join the Media Vision fraternity!

Larry, you will likely get more information on sound cards in the sound card
section of the MIDI forum GO MIDIFORUM. I own a Pro Audio Spectrum card and
like it, but I feel that there are better cards on the market now. Some of the
newer cards offer sampled sounds rather than the synthesized sounds created by
Yamaha's FM chip. To determine what card is best for you we need to know if
you will be running it only in Windows mode and if you are simply looking for
the best sound or have a maximum price you want to pay. Are you planning on
buying a CD-ROM drive too?
