#MSCDEX – Help

I have the Adaptec software for ezsetup but lack the documentation to use it. I
have expanded all files but when I try to use MSCDEX I don't know how to
specify the options. I am runnung MSDOS 5.0, have the Adaptec 1542B on an EISA
machine. When I try running install.bat the system hang with the message "Can't
read from drive C:' I can do an Abort but the system is then very slow. What is
happening?.

Enter MSCDEX without parameters, it will give you short help. You need to have
a /D:MSCD000 on the driver line and the MSCDEX line. You should have a /M:10
on the MSCDEX line.
Thanks, Now I am looking for the driver. I seems that I need the HITACHIA.SYS
to work with my Hitachi 1750S. Any suggestions where I can find it?

The HitachiA.sys is for the CDR1700S, not the 1750. The 1750 is SCSI bus, and
the driver needs to match the SCSI card, Future Domain, Adaptek, Trantor, etc.
If you needed the "A" driver, you would need to get it from Hitachi or Todd.
