My 1200 had no adapter either and as far as I know it never was included with
any 1200. A little note was in the box that said it could be purchased
seperatly.
The book also said to refer to the included AREXX and AMIGA Dos manuals which
were never included either.
Sending a letter to them hasn't proved to do any good or posting messages in
the CBM Support forum.
They don't seem to care anymore since the company is doomed.

Just a little comment about how CBM is running the business.
We all have our comments about CBM feeling we don't get any support.
I would have felt a lot better about purchasing my new Amiga if I would have
received some documentaion on how to use it. Like the new AmigaDOS commands and
ARexx manuals.
Is Commodore sending software to the New 1200 users in Europe?
After sending in the registration card I received Final Copy and DPaint AGA.

Amiga Dealers are now carrying, or can order the hard disk kits that
include the ARexx documentation, the IDE cable, the hard disk installation
software, and manuals that you did not get with the regular A1200.
We got our kits today.

I don't know yet because I haven't sent the reg card. But I suppose commdore
should send software if they do elsewhere. I don't know yet! About the
manuals… THAT is really strange, even unacceptable. I mean I've been on
amiga's for about 4 years so I know my way around, and maybe I'll be able to
fully use the new commands without any help. But I mean, try to imagine the
poor guy that buys it and doesn't know a single command of amiga dos. I don't
understand! When I bought my a3000 the first thing I noticed was the EXCELLENT
manuals! (BEFORE turning on the machine 🙂 but know all I've got is a 10 page
userguide and the Workbench's manual. I can't say I really care, but I can't
pretend I'm blind! Bye

I too got the A1200, but I was my lucker due to my upgrade path.
There was no 23-to-15pin adaptor, but a not that the adapter could be
purchased separately. I wasn't bothered, since I had already purchased
the adapter (part #390682-01) over a year ago from my dealer. I was
testing it with a VGA monitor and an ECS A500.
There was no AmigaDOS, or Arexx manual. But the dealer did hand me a
notice that listed the "AS217 Documentation Pack", which included the
AmigaDos User's Guide and the ARexx User's Guide. Again I already had
both, from an ADOS-2.1 Upgrade kit. (The AmigaDOS & ARexx manuals are
indentical for both 2.1 & 3.0.)
There was also a notice about a Hard Drive upgrade Kit. I have a feeling
the HDPrep software is again the same for 2.1 & 3.0, but I'm not sure.
The Laptop-IDE cable is being carried by my dealer, and Mircobotics(sp?)
has released their own HD-prep software online.

Ron: that's "MicroBotics" –and if you go to our section (16) in amigavendor
you can download RDP391.lha which is the archive of our very professional disk
prep package now available as "freeware". We'll also be making available a
freeware diskette (for seven bux shipping/handling/media) for those who aren't
online. It has RDPrep and MBRTest-2 and some misc utilities.
–Redmond ps: we also make the first real peripheral expansion to become
available for the A1200: MBX1200, a ram, fpu & clock board.
Can you tell me if there is a way that RDPrep can toggle the SCSI
Disconnect setting as Ron suggested? I don't see anything in RDPrep to do
that.
