I've recently started getting a "CMOS Checksum Error" on the FIRST BOOT of my Bridgeboard. When I reboot, it's fine. I have tried moving things around in my CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files, but with no luck. This error pretty much came out of the blue. It could possibly stem from a software installation, because I have installed a couple of pieces of software on the PC side, as well as a couple of things on the Amiga side. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? It's really annoying, and keeps me from booting into Windows. Thanks in advance…..Nancy

means you need to run the setup program (configuration. ie, where you setup waht drives you have, date, time, what floppies, etc…) tony

Hi Nancy… Was one of the pieces of software DOS 5? I installed it on a PC last week and it scrambled the CMOS. I had to redo all the SETUP settings. I thought I'd zapped it with static electricity or something, but I've since heard of this happening to others with DOS 5. It pays to know what your SETUP says! No, the technician in the shop originally gave me the wrong setting (47 – for a 240 meg drive!) – and did not include the manual when I picked up the machine. I reset it to AUTO. Finally, I got the drive specs. Now, I have it set up properly. No probs w/DOS 5, though. Wonder how DOS 6 will come through. I'm thinking of trying DR DOS. Surplus software has a fabulous deal on it, and it's supposed to be pretty good. Have you gotten any feedback yet on that product?…..Nancy

A couple of people use it…no problems reported, except that JLINK doesn't like it much. (I think..been a while since I checked into this…) Marion CROSSINGS Newsletter for the Bridgeboard, etc.

Marion, do you have any details about the JLINK problem? I'm seriously considering this board. My slots are full now, and, unfortunately, I need another peripheral. Advice will be much appreciated…..Nancy
