I finally bought the Toshiba 3401 drive, but I have had no luck it getting it
to work! I'm trying to use it with the Future Domain TMC-850MER controller (or
"host adapter" or whatever it's called). When I boot up, the driver gives me
"No Drives needing support", as if the drive doesn't exist. I've
double-checked all of the connections, but everything looks fine. Also, I
pulled out all cards except video and I/O. I've tried every conceivable jumper
combination, but so far nothing. The drive light stays on – that doesn't seem
right either.
Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated!

I use that SCSI card with a Hitachi drive. If you tried each of the other
addresses, try the card in an 8 bit slot, or try setting the VGA into a 8 bit
access mode. It might also be that the driver excludes that drive, but it is
more likely that there is either a 16 bit access problem which can be caused by
some VGA card. You might need to EXCLUDE the memory area used by the card from
you memory manager. Try everything low first. You can get some help from
Future Domain, in 714 AC.

What SCSI address did you set the Toshiba to ??? Have you terminated the SCSI
bus properly ??? Is there anything else on your host adapter ??? Is the Toshiba
an internal or an external one ???
