#Backtalk problem

Hi,
I'm having a problem with Backtalk. I just fully converted over to
WB2.04 (the ROM chip,etc). I transferred all of the Backtalk files to their
recommended directories. Now if I try to change the font to anything but
the 2 resident fonts (Topaz 8/9) the system locks up with a 8000 0003 error
message. I've run fixfonts, increased Backtalks stack, and run diagnostics
on my RAM…all OK, but still it crashes. I've accessed the fonts from
other programs and all run fine. I'm running Backtalk 1.51 on a stock A2000
on a GVP hard drive. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

No idea — BackTalk was written under 2.0 and I (occassionally) use the new
outline fonts — so it does work fine. Double check your configuration
file.

The problem disappeared when I stopped using FR_BYPASS in my
startup-sequence. I did d/l Khalid's latest version of it and tried that
but still got a crash when selecting a font. Things run fine without it but
every time I use BT with FR_BYPASS and select a font… I lock up (8000
0003).

If you're running under 2.0 you shouldn't be using his file requester
anyway — use a real font requester (that comes standard in 2.0).
Hey, I *like* Khalid's FR, even in 2.0. A *real* file requestor, like ASL?

I use an offline mail reader and I found that I get the same problem. I
was able to clear it up by getting rid of FR_BYPASS. Must be a bug in that
program.

I'm using BT just fine under 2.04.
Fonts works just fine…my only guess is that perhaps one of the
new libraries didn't get copied over? Look and see what version you have
of the diskfont.library (in LIBS:). IT should be 37.58. You can find out
what version it is by typing in a CLI.
version libs:diskfont.library
