#3DS Rendering Error
11 messages in this thread
to anybody, HELP! I keep getting an "Invalid Normal Array" error
every time I try to render the OLDCITY and 50PMAN 3D Studio Sample
files. I've also tried my own files. They process through Visual
Link fine. But when I bring into the Keframer and try to render it
ant 684×480 and 1280×1024 , I still get the same error I've got at
9GXE graphics Card running at 1280×1024 on an Intel 486-66DX2 DTK
Computer. I can't find any clues in the 3D Studio Reference Manuals.
If you can help, Please let me know.
Invalid Normal Array usually means 3DS.EXE has become corrupted due to
some factor like a bad sector on disk, a virus, or dongle-cracking.
If you re-install the program from the original disks after checking
for HD surface problems and viruses, you should be all set.
Thanks for the advice I'll try it. By the way what's your application
for 3DS?
My specialty is doing whatever pays the bills <g>. So far my market has been
primarily broadcast, but I'm courting multi-media, interactive, and games
sectors, too.

Hey John,
I'm interested in the work your doing. It sounds like you are on your own. Let
me know what you've been up to. Sounds like my company, Taylor McCormick
Graphics, and you are doing some similiar things. Hope to talk to you soon.

My company is pretty young, but we're moving along at a nice pace. I've been
doing mostly broadcast animation, but am courting games/interactive markets,
too.

As John said, something happened to your executable that damaged your
file and the data structures have become unstable. If you still have
problems after re-installing, contact your 3DS dealer and ask for a
new set of master disks.
G,
Thaks. By the way what's your specialty with 3DS?
Lorenzo
Lorenzo,
"-G-" is Gary Yost. His team, the Yost group, wrote/designed 3DS. That's his
specialty.

This has nothing to do with the topic, but did you guys… Yost Group, do some
effects for the television show VIPER???
Grady O. Williams III
Nope, but the folks at Pet Fly Productions are using 3DS for some of the Viper
stuff. (not the car body morph, but most of the other stuff)
