I purchased the vortex 486 emulator and I am having major troubles with
getting it to work. I can get it to work somtimes when I pull out every
other card. I was wondering if the fact that my A2000 mother board is rev
4.1 might be affecting it's performance.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
The other cards that I have are Commodore 8 meg expansion, GVP 68030 40
mhz accelerator, GVP phone pak and an GVP spectrum graphics board

Exactly what problems are you having? Have you gotten to the point
where the board seems to boot up? Is it just dead, etc.?
I have a C= 386 bridgeboard (BB). If you are having some kind of
generic problems of IBM clones, then any of us with BB's or emulator cards
might be able to help. Also, if you are having a problem specific to the
Vortex then someone having that board can help you compare settings.
My system is also an A2000HD. It has a GVP G-Force 030 (25MHZ) in it.
Now have you pulled jumper J12 on your GVP accelerator to map onboard
memory as extended? On my system pulling J12 open is necessary to avoid
memory conflict. If Vortex uses the same memory area as the BB, then you
need to pull J12 open, too!

do you run your RAM-exp. with 8 MEG ? if yes, take off 2 MB and run it
only with 6 MB. This was the problem I also had and is a known problem.
(with all the BB`s)
