Has anyone else with an ECS machine gotten CloudsAGA (in the libs here as
Clouds.lha) to work? The docs say it will run in 32-color mode on an ECS
machine, but when I fire it up it merely gives me a "can't open screen"
message. I've plenty of chip RAM, so that can't be it. The AmigaGuide help
file seems goofed up, too — too-wide margins so you have to scroll a lot
horizontally.
I have the same problem on my 3000. I tried looking at the source but since I
don't do M2 and it was late at night 🙂 I didn't get anywhere.
As for the AmigaGuide file, I understand that Commodore is *partially* to
blame. I've been told that MultiView (the 3.0 equivalent of AG) wraps lines
automatically. Apparently there are programmers that don't know about the
inferior AG that Commodore has belatedly released to us lowly 2.1 users, but I
can't imagine why they'd make such a radical change. (OK, maybe I can
imagine… By the time you've got all your links and whatnot in, your text is
already wider than 80 columns even if only 80 columns are going to be
displayed, so I suppose they decided to make it easier on the programmers.)
