#PAR single frame?

Greg, Is it possible to do single frame output from the PAR? It seems that PAR's biggest limiting factor in terms of quality would be the JPEG artifacts. Perhaps a possible solution might be to use the PAR's realtime output for rendering tests, then do the final output frame-by-frame from TGA's. Would this be possible with existing software or would it require something] new? Ian.

Ian: >> Is it possible to do single frame output from the PAR? No, the hardware requires you to have the images on the disk to view, and the only way to get them on the disk is to store them as an ANI file. >> It seems that PAR's biggest limiting factor in terms of quality would be >> the JPEG artifacts. Yes, but they are few and far between with a fast hard disk and a high Q setting! With critical forum regulars like Don Landis and John Ellis amazed at the output (Don is selling his single frame gear because of it!) as well as the many others who have been raving about the PAR here, I don't think you'll have many complaints! The quality is definitely above any SVHS or Hi-8 or 3/4" decks out there! Just go straight out through the Beta Component outputs to a BetaSP deck and you're really cooking! Greg Pyros

Well Greg, you sure make it sound great. All I have to do now is stop salivating long enough to raise some dough. I'll be starting my thesis animation soon and the only output choice I have is through Alias PowerAnimator to 3/4". I've done a few tests but so far the results look pretty poor. With any luck I'll get a few good paying jobs soon and I'll be able to go with a PAR! Ian (forever optimistic)
