I am using Version 3 of 3D Studio and bought the Sanyo GVR-S950 as the Sanyo product is being advertised to work with the Rel. 3, however, I am having this problem: The VTR does not seem to record any frame rendered in the RENDER to TAPE option in the KEYFRAMER. I also tried the DISK to VTR with the same result. The frames are being rendered as can be seen in the monitor I connected to the VIDEO out of the VTR. VTR SETUP seems to work as I get a "VTR ONLINE" message after pressing the INITIALIZE button in the SETUP Dialog box. 3DS is also able to read the timecode on tape — the CONTROL dialog box timecode is able to match what is displayed on the VTR panel. I have followed everything in the 3DS Installation Guide and Reference Manual as well as documentation on the Sanyo regading 3DS installation of the VTPADI driver (in this case the VTRSAN.EXP) and tape timecode stripping. I also tried changing the setting for VTR-PRE-STOP with the same result. I have stripped my config.sys and autoexec.bat files of any TSR's. I have left a message with the SANYO people and still have to wait for a response. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I have the same deck. If you can, get your money back on it…will save you some headaches later! Anyway, you might make sure that when it initializes that it says video insert on the display of the deck. Hope this helps! Jay Savill Cyber Simulations, Inc.

>>>I have the same deck. If you can, get your money back on it…will save you >>>some headaches later! What did you mean by this? I too have a GVR-S950 (and access to an AG-7750), given the price differential I am pretty happy with the Sanyo..it not as sturdy, not as stable but a darn sight cheaper. Is there something I don't know? SK
